Aurora - Los Aurora

2019

Aurora is the debut album by Los Aurora, the starting point of an artistic journey that bridges tradition and innovation. The record was born from the desire to reinterpret flamenco through a contemporary lens, without losing its roots or emotional depth.

The repertoire features adaptations of works by Federico García Lorca, Manuel de Falla, and other essential authors, alongside original compositions that draw from flamenco, jazz and classical music. With an unconventional instrumentation for the genre — piano, electric bass, drums and flamenco voice — the group proposes a new sonic language: free, nuanced and deeply expressive.

The album takes spiritual inspiration from Enrique Morente, especially his ability to break boundaries while remaining true to flamenco’s essence. In fact, the group’s name comes from Lorca’s poem La Aurora, immortalized by Morente and reimagined here with original music.

Aurora is a statement of intent: a tribute to poetry, risk, attentive listening and fusion as a way of life. A bold and honest first step into a territory of its own, still waiting to be discovered.
